Prize to be awarded to best young entrepreneur

By Mario Cywinski |

Are you a young entrepreneur, with a great story to tell?

Would you want to win a prize, simply for having a great entrepreneurial idea?

A new competition for all young entrepreneurs has been set up by financial author, Peter Bielagus.

As a result of the release of his new book Quick Cash For Kids, Bielagus would like to give $1,000 to any young entrepreneur, aged 12 to 19, who can best explain their idea and how they would spend the prize, if they won.

“In writing this book, I really wanted to hear from the front lines,” said Bielagus. “What are the actual problems that actual young entrepreneurs face? What was the smartest thing they did? What was the dumbest?”

Interested youngsters have to submit a 250-word essay telling Bielagus about the business they are running or plan to start. The essay should also include information of how they came up with the idea, how they got started (or plan to) and what obstacles they have faced.

As many small business owners know, it can be a real challenge to get a business off the ground, especially for youngsters.

Therefore, the winner, in addition to receiving the $1,000 grant in venture capital, will had a day-long coaching session from Bielagus.

However, all is not lost if you are not selected as the winner, as Bielagus is also offering 100 free books to the top 100 stories that are submitted.

Entries should be sent to peter@peterspeaks.com with Contest in the subject line. For those who like to use snail mail, entries can be sent to Peter Bielagus, 170 South River Rd, Bedford, NH, 03110.

The contest closes on March 28, 2008.
