Set on 14 wooded acres on the outskirts of Peterborough, Ontario, in the Kawarthas, bordering an 18-hole golf course, our 22,000 square-foot facility has been specifically designed and decorated to create a relaxing, healing and uplifting environment. Our guests will experience a retreat-like feel with resort-quality care and amenities. Spacious, well-appointed bedrooms all have ensuite bathrooms with showers and the added comfort of an adjacent sitting/lounge area with views of the woodlands.

Why Our Program Works

Our program challenges all the old assumptions about alcoholism and drug addiction.

At the Canadian Health Recovery Centre, our approach is vastly different than that of traditional treatment models. We address addiction as both behavioural and biochemical in nature.

Through research and working with leading experts in the field, it’s clear to us that the traditional psychological model and 12-step-based programs simply don’t work for a large percentage of people, as they do not address the biochemical imbalances, nutritional deficiencies and neurological conditions that underlie addictive behaviour.
At CHRC, we are changing the status quo. Our holistic program is based on the latest scientific research. We don’t use the outdated practices of traditional treatment programs and we are not a 12-step-based program.
