BC launches powerful job search portal

BC — Calling it a "BC first", the government has launched a free job portal, WorkBC.ca.
Job postings are free, but there is an interesting twist on the typical sign-up process.
To create an account to post a job employers must enter their Business Number (BN). Those who don't have one are directed to a page that explains how to register a business in BC.
The portal centralizes job listings and includes jobs from the provincial public service as well as those imported from external job boards like Workopolis, Monster and company websites.
Jobs posted to the Service Canada Job Bank will also be available through www.WorkBC.ca.
With projections that BC will have over one million job openings over the next decade, the new search tool should be a great help.
"Having the right tools to find those jobs is a priority, and the new search tool on the WorkBC site will help job seekers more easily find the jobs available to them," said Pat Bell, Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation.
