Canada / US border closes to non-essential travel
By CO Staff @canadaone | March 18, 2020
Speaking at a press conference this morning Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed that Canada and the US have agreed to close non-essential travel between the two countries.
"Travellers will no longer be able to cross the border for recreation and tourism," said Trudeau.
The Prime Minister noted that the restrictions will not apply to essential travel, which includes trucking to ensure that supply chains will remain open. Similarly, Canadians and Americans who cross the border daily to do "essential work" or for "other urgent reasons" will also be allowed to cross the border.
