Holiday pay

Expert: Howard Levitt

Ron asked:

A 10 year employee at the business where I work in Saskatchewan is entitled to four weeks holidays. If the employee only takes three weeks holidays, does the employer have to pay out the extra week or does the employee lose that week?

Howard Levitt answered:

Since 4 weeks is more then the employment standards vacation pay entitlement, it depends on the policy and practice of the company.
