Based on your question, I can't imagine any problems with your idea. I understand you're buying the clip from its producer or a distributor. Using it for some purpose shouldn't lead to any patent problems from the use of the clip.

Any patent concerns would relate to the product you're planning to sell rather than the use of this specific component.
